Yes you are not mistaken, The Goonies' Sequel has been announced by Richard Donner aka the director of The Goonies. TMZ was on the scene as Richard was signing some autographs for fans over the weekend in Beverly Hills, when the photog casually chatted with him about comic book movies-- such as Spider-Man -- and asked if Donner would be interested in making another comic book movie, since he did helm the original Superman.
His reply? "If you call The Goonies a comic book. We're making a sequel." The photog also asked if the original cast -- including Josh Brolin and Cory Feldman -- would return and he said, "Hopefully."
OK so this is pretty big news!
Now, obviously no other details are known, but it seems as though much of the cast is into it, as Corey Feldman has been trying to champion a Goonies sequel for years now. Also, Robert Davi -- aka the villainous Jake Fratelli -- said he'd love to dive into another Goonies installment. The jury is still out on the rest of the cast such as Sean Astin and Martha Plimpton, but who would want to pass up an opportunity like this? Goonies never say die, ya know!
And who knows, maybe they're thinking of doing more of a reboot than a sequel? . So how do you all feel about this I know I'm pumped, I loved the first one and I'm looking forward to this one, but really do we need another sequel or reboot? I mean there are enough reboots going around in hollywood right now and some of them don't even make the big bucks. That's all there is today and I'm out for now, stay cool and watch some movies guys....
